Tac vest help

I've got myself a repro CF tac vest (all I can afford atm, don't need the usual "what a pos vest") and I've got a question for you CF guys;

How do you secure the straps so you don't look like you're making some retarded knock-off ghillie suit? Kind of a dumb question, since the most obvious thing would be to tie them down with cord/tie them into the vest, but I was wondering if there was any specific trick you used.

Thanks in advance.

CF refers to it as 'snailling' as in you roll them up like a 'snail' and there should be an elastic type band at the top, just tuck your snail in there and it should be fine, sorry for the crappy advice but its hard to describe without visuals.

Never heard it called snailing before; IMO the "snailing" is prone to coming undone.

On my tac vest I just fold the excess strap over itself a couple times than place the elastic over it. If your repro vest doesn't have the elastic bands use tape.

Green duct tape? So you mean gun tape.

I don't get why you said C1A1 though since thats the old Canadian service rifle.

I managed to 'snail' the straps through the elastics (french roll?), looped it a few times and haven't come undone in the year that I've had my vest...

Works fine IMO if you can do it properly, if not, gun tape.

Mine comes undone when I wear it in the field... so I just stopped. besides I wear it loose so there isnt alot of slack on the straps to 'snail' or fold...
