Painting Clear Plastic Receiver

Just wondering for people who actually done this numerous times before,
when you paint a clear plastic receiver typically what do you do?
Like from what I understand, its 1 layer of Black Primer, then 3 coats of Kylron Flat Black. If Im wrong please correct me,
Also where do you guys paint? Just the outside? Outside + Magwell?

Finally, is there anyways I can prevent myself from having the paint easily wear off? I've seen alot of FDE M4 Camo paint ends up being black n FDE due to rubbing and wear, is this because they did not use primer?

I keep on hearing people using Vinyl dye. I'm planning on trying this out tommorow.

I'll give you a heads up when I do so.

Its best to give the surface a fine sanding to rough up the surface in order to give it more surface to grab on. Also to prevent the rub-off its best to take apart the gin and paint the inside of the receiver. Keeps paint intact, save for the magwell but it does leave the natural shimmer to it of the smooth plastic surface.

for the one i got, fine sand, krylon camo + clear coat + one more layer on top of clear of Krylon camo to make it look 'right' for me.

Dye I hear is the best way to go.

Otherwise a light sanding, wipe down, and a few coats of Krylon camo black.
If your gun has trades on it that you'd like to keep. Tape the whole outside of the body and just paint the inside.

When I painted my Crosman shotgun, I painted the inside as well, that way if the outside gets scratched or chipped, it'll be less noticable.
