My Clearsoft is soon to go under the knife
So while I was running some errands, I stopped off at a local KENT store and browsed the paint section for a small cheap can of black spray paint so I could at some point spray paint my cheap walmart clear soft gun, I found a aersol can of KRYLON indoor/outdoor FLAT black spray paint, which either some time tonight or tomorrow, my gun will be getting a new look, AND.....
There will be no orange tip...just black..cuz once you go black....You never go back....

48 hour between code is too long. I never be able to wait that long.
I usually wait only 1 hour or less to apply another code, 3 or 4 code would do the job after that wait about 1 week, you can either apply another code or keep it like that. I did at least 4 or 5 rifle since I start airsoft and never counter strip paint problem with just regular airsoft game.

Don't forget to sand and use a primer (even if the can says no primer needed).
It's not necessary but it does help a lot with adhesion. Also no need to wait 48 hours, that's way too long. Just wait until it's dry to the touch (I believe it's between 30 mins to 1 hour) PS: If the "calligraphy tip" on the krylon bothers you just take a knife or something and shave of the two little nib things on either side of the tip it will now spray like the regular circular pattern that most of us are used to.

I quite like the calligraphy tip for one colour jobs. It makes it easier to spray a nice thin coat.
Anyways, for Krylon use, heres the to-do list. 1) Sandpaper the orange. If you can't get it all off that's fine, just rough it up. 2) Use a primer intended for the material the flash hider is made of. 3) Thin coat of Krylon Matte (Rustolium works better for this type of job, FYI). 4) Wait 45 mins. 5) Repeat steps 3 & 4 about 3 times each. 6) Spray a matte clear coat. MAKE SURE THE COAT IS THIN! 7) Wait 48 hours. All done. PM me if you have any questions. |

Actually..For the Classic Army, I have a metal part for the flash hider so I dont have to paint it, I just need to take off the orange piece and then screw on the metal piece

step 1 wash the part you want to paint with alchohol or warm water and soap Step 2 grab a heater if you have one Step 3 paint gun make sure to stay father then a foot when spraying and move across the object at a medium pace to avoid running and apply in ectremely light coats you miust use the heater thought to do this method as the coats with dry in minutes continue this step with 5-10 minute breaks inbetween coats and it'll come out with a flat looking finish |
