AI propane adaptor RIPPED OFF
evike will be stocking this rip off of the AI propane adaptor. I'm aware madbull or somthing made their own version. (though I'm under the impression they made theirs from scratch and it uses a diffferent system)
This on the other hand is blasphemy! http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_i...ducts_id=30290 |

they're all knock offs of Carl's AI adapter. There's quite a few of them out there actually.

We all know the propane adaptor was made by MadMax Carl from AI in Canada.
So was hockey too. Damn Americans. |

These have been around for a while.
I'm actually going to be stocking some metal propane adapters in about a week or two as well. Last edited by Styrak; November 10th, 2009 at 22:54.. |

Stay away from that knockoff of my V4 adaptor. They screwed up the spring design so it falls out and the tip is missing a feature which gives a good connection to the mag fill valve. It shoots a bunch of gas everywhere when you try to use it. You'll note that my original V4 design had a different diameter at the outer end of the spring. This diameter centred with the valve opening on a propane tank so the spring didn't bind with the probe. I went thru some considerable expense to get this feature done to prevent occasional spring bind which sometimes prevented proper opening of the tank valve.
I periodically buy knockoffs of my products to see what kind of crap I'm up against in the field. So far, I've found that the Madbull adaptors aren't bad. I actually like their design. I wanted to go with a valved adaptor way back when, but didn't have the machining capacity to make it so I developed the simpler moving probe adaptor to save on machining costs. Madbull went out of their way to go with their own design principle. I do hear that they've had problems with the thread sizing on their adaptors from time to time. The KJW yellow knockoffs eventually fall apart. The plastic ring which holds the probe in falls off and turns into a four piece adaptor.

Can't say if it is or isn't, but when has that every stopped Chinese companies from flooding the market with knockoffs?

While I only own Carl's products, I find it incredibly humorous that people who have no problem buying cheap Chinese clones of TM designs are bitching about buying cheap Chinese clones of Carl's designs.
Just sayin.

When one of those knock off adapter explode and send it's probe shooting in someone eye, people will learn what is safe to clone and what's not.
The AI adapter rock. I got one of the first version, I don't know wich, and I want to buy the newer plastic version. I'm not afraid of propane much, but when dealing with pressurised flamable and stinky gas, I prefer a product that is well designed to handle it.
