Hurricane 552 - Fake?
Hey,
I was just sold a used "Hurricane 552", but how can I verify if it is in fact an Hurricane version or just a chinese clone? There is no trades on the bottom whatsoever, it dosent say Hurricane anywhere... |

Sounds like one of the first ones in country. I got one from AirsoftParts when they first came out and it has no trades either, Eotech or Hurricane.

Is there anyway to verify that I didn't get a cheap chinese clone? Are the first ones as good as the newer ones?
I could take it apart, see the internals. I guess that they use a specific IC microcontroller, if anyone has one, I could check on mine. Last edited by Doombringer; October 15th, 2009 at 15:42.. |

I believe the lens on the HurricanE Eotechs are of a Brighter shade than Chinaclones(China clones have darkish purplish shade).

It has a greenish light tint and the lens is pretty reflective.

hurricanes have an auto brightness adjuster, check how bright it is in pure darkness, then go outside on a light day right after, if it has gotten brighter (so you can see it outside) then it's most likely a hurricane as that is the only brand with the auto adjusting brightness (at least that i know of)

It dosent seem to auto-adjust
