Smart charger isn't so smart.

So I have a smart charger I bought off of airsoftparts.ca, it charges all my 9.6v batteries great. Now a few months ago I bought a G&P 10.8v 3300mAh Peq. Well for some reason my charger would charge for 15 minutes then say the battery was charged, I could fire off a few shot then the battery would die. Ehobby sent me a replacment, so I plugged it into my charger and the same thing happens. Any clues as to why my charger won't charge my peq2? The back of the charger says for 7.4 gto 12v. Is my charger fucked?

Isn't that charger only rated to 3000mah batteries?

I'm pretty sure it said something about that in the Engrish manual that came with it.

It didn't come with a manual. Well either way guess I have to get another charger. Anyone know if there is a charger that can do Lipo as well as Nihm?

If it says 4.8V-10.8V as OUTPUT, then no it wouldn't be able to charge a 10.8V. a 10.8V fully charged would be over 12V and the charger needs to push over that to charge it.

That's true, but it should be able to charge it at least 50%. His symptoms state it is barely being charged 5%.

But that is true if its output maxes out at 10.8V, then that will be a problem for a 10.8V battery as it will never become truly fully charged.

Edit: A thought. Maybe they say output V of 10.8V. But it might be just rounded up for funsies, and its real output voltage is more like 10.4V or less. This would definitely cause this problem.

You can get a charger that will do both LiPo and Ni-Mah... but be prepared to spend $150 on one. You do not want a cheap LiPo charger.

Well Tom just informed me that his charger outputs 20V and 0.9/1.8A variable.

Time to see if it actually outputs that..

Yea, you can't charge a 10.8v battery with a 10.8v charger.
