Back up gun(s) ??

When you guy say back-up gun(s) e.g. pistol or rifle, will you really bring your back-up(s) along with you to the field?

I have a KWA MAC 11, and it's the perfect back up gun. I always have a back up, just in case...

I've carried a shotgun as a secondary weapon, in addition to a sidearm.

most people bring a secondary weapon, ie pistol or shot gun or smg . A backup gun is usually related to a spare weapon in case your primary rifle/smg/whatever goes down and you need another gun .

If you have a pistol sidearm, why leave it behind? That's kinda stupid.

I pack a spare AEG in case of failure but don't take both onto the field at the same time. I do take multiple pistols as secondaries and back up. the most I've had on me was an M4, 4 pistols and an AGX grenade launcher. many mags for all and plenty of 40mm rounds

I usually carry an AEG, a pistol and a 40mm launcher. I usually bring a mag compatible AEG and mag compatible pistol for back up purposes.

For example, if my primary is an AR my back up AEG is an AR. If my primary sidearm is a .45 GBB pistol my back up is a .45 GBB pistol.

If you run your AEG stock, no need for back up I would said (good brand AEG for say, TM, Classic Army, Ares, etc),

Else, back up all the way! Why ruin your day?

Also, GBB, yes, but if you play in sandy area and use a drop leg holster, don t bring it, sand in a GBB is not fun at all. Try to use a holster that protect your GBB as much as possible (wrap around). And don t loose your GBB mags...

Last game we play, someone lost is 9mm back up in game Good holster is critical!

that's funny because I've always tried to have a backup pistol, but then I don't use it on the field because my aeg is reliable enough, then it gets dirty, then I fool around with it at home and break it, and comes the next game, it's not ready.
Then I stop using it, then I plink at home, then I break it again, then when a pistol game shows up, I want to use it as a primary, but then I buy a shotgun and it's again a secondary.
And then I break it again.
So I don't know

Back up

prudent players .. if they have the resources will have

2 AEGs ( same mags for both ) if you can

and minimum 3 charged batteries

Ill also bring a loaner gun in case someone else's gun goes down and they don't have a back up

so

every game I have typically 3 AEGs 4 batteries 1 pistol

I always have a spare sling that Ill loan out or often give away to people who have no sling for their weapon.

I see a big difference between a pistol and a 'backup gun'. For me, my pistol is my secondary and is with me at all times. Should my primary run out of ammo or malfunction, or I need to get into a tight spot I can't with my primary, the secondary comes out.

I bring a 'backup gun' or 2 to games with me in the form of other AEGs in case my primary fails. That way, I have another gun or 2 available. And I'll often also bring along a loaner / rental in case someone else's primary fails and they don't have a backup.

I don't need a back-up gun because my VSR-10 will never break (running 460 FPS in a set up that's rated to 600+)

But my secondary is a TM VSR-10... and I'm building both a magpul M4 and an AK pistol.
