Filling a Marui hi-capa with propane : lotsa waste or is it me?
I recently acquired a Marui hi-capa 5.1 with a few mags (thanks everyone for your advices on this).
While filling my first mag I realized that a whole lot of propane flows outside the mag from the bottle (not a leak). the reason seems to be that there is no seal created between the propane adaptor and the mag valve (I don't get this problem with my Glock. There is a small o-ring at the bottom of the valve where the propane adaptor pushes which creates a seal). Is that normal? Is there anything to avoid this? Should I just buy o-rings or am I doing something wrong?

are you holding the bottle and mag completely straight? does this happen when the mag is completely empty or when it is almost full? what brand propane adaptor is it? I have a madbull and an AI and I find the madbull is a little thicker and doesnt fit as well with hi-capa mags.

TM mags have a blow-off that vents when filling. There's a big how and why posted in here from Mad Max somewhere.

It happens when I fill the mags. I hold the mag in hand and invert the Coleman propane bottle over it (with a AI metal adaptor from airsoftparts.ca).
It happened when the mag was totally empty (first time) but also when not totally empty (filled up after a few shots) I tried varying the angles a bit to see if I was holding it wrong and no changes. As for the blow-off, where is it located? The gas is really coming from where the adaptor connects with the valve, not elsewhere on the mag. As stated I do this flawlessly with other mags (only difference is the little o-ring at the bottom).

if you mean it leaks gas when you fill the mag, then it's normal for TM

once it's full it should start spewing gas to let you know when to stop, if the mag is completely empty it shouldnt be doing that when you first start filling.

It's exactly that. Original marui hi capa 5.1 mags.
Here is the adaptor I use (it's the madbull aparently, my mistake) : http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1292 (without the oil reservoir)

I have 3 brand new TM 4.3 mags and they all do the same thing. I have a HFC Glock and the mags for it don't leak at all when filling them.
