Most reliable AK-47?
Hello gun nuts. Before I start, I'm not 100% on the rules about talking with airsoft guns with minors, but this is just a thread asking for general information. Feel free to lock/delete the thread if needed. I will be 18 in November so there is no need to tell me to get Age Verified. I will when I can.
Right now, I own a Kraken with a few upgrades/downgrades and I really feel like I am being cheated of a proper airsoft AK in terms of build quality. So I have been internet shopping around and it looks like what I am looking for is a G&G RK-47 (which I will purchase from Ken at 007 Airsoft). Does anyone have any information/opinions that could assist me in making a proper purchase? I plan on keeping the Kraken even after I get the G&G just for lending purposes. Thanks ahead of time. Edit: Oh and the reason for which I feel cheated of a proper AK is numerous creaks in the plastic lower receiver and piece of plastic broke off just above the pistol when I was last reassembling the rifle. Ive held a G&G AK before, and suffice to say i will never buy one, the reciever has a pebbly texture, and the thing must weight 5 pounds max, its so light, i didnt like it at all,
you cant go wrong with a Dboys AK though

I've Had my Tokyo Marui Ak-47 since 2005, never had to touch the gear box and it only jammed twice, but that was from defected bb's that were too big. it still has plenty of range and accuracy, the ROF is still just as high as when I bought it and I have never heard it grind gears. Its taken alot of punishment, its been my main weapon since i bought it and has fired countless rounds, its been in the mud, snow and rain...at the same time many times (I love gaming in shit weather) it has quite a few stories to tell and has never let me down. if your only seventeen wait till nov and get Av'd asap, I'm sure there are TM Ak's in the gun section. TM's are your best bet, they got weight. are very solid and sturdy (I still use the original plastic reciever) and feel right in your hands.

If I did get the RK-47, I would almost definitely swap out the lower receiver for a metal one.
But about the Dboys, are there any retailers in Canada that sell them or would I have to wait for one to pop up in the classifieds? Edit: Didn't see your post there Haakon. TMs are always a good thing. So many options in the world of Kalashnikov. Last edited by Evans; August 21st, 2009 at 23:15.. |

TBH Id take a Dboys AK over the TM AK, and if you get a G&G and add a metal reciever, for the love of god dont buy an element reciever, they are made of cheese and styrofoam

I have the g&g rk47 with real wood.
Yeah the receiver has a weird texture but the wood is nice but in the wrong color (to brownish). It shoot nice and straight with a fps of about 340-350. It's not that light... more like 8lbs (only the lower receiver is plastic) Btw... you can only use g&g receivers because of the design of the bolt...

and big hop problems. RS isn't compatible with much. So do you want a real steel shell for your wall? Or a gun that works like a TM workhorse? Maybe if more RS AK's got gamed/rather than coddled you'd see a bigger trail of issues. real sword type 56 mags issue - Military Photos http://www.airsoftretreat.com/forums...8855.msg614164 fun read: http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/lo...p/t154584.html http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/lo...p/t138312.html

The hopup issues were just because they used a weak japan legal spring with a hard rubber rated for much higher FPS, and mag feed issues are intermittent at best, and you can fix them yourself if you take a few minutes

You seem to say that every other post, lol. I will reiterate that mine, And others that I play with have had theirs to many games and they are completely fine, Even when dropped and everything. Not saying you should take my word for it or nothing but just don't take Thenooblord's as final say.

Once you get AV'ed you will have a plethora of options in terms of AK's in the classifieds. Just start saving NOW. Every penny you get, keep it. Don't spend it on anything. Even food. Especially food.
TM is always the best bet, CA's are supposed to be great as well, normally I'd stay away from DBalls but Ive heard great things about their AK line. |

I've said it a total of 2 times, so out of 762 posts, I've got a little while to go before i reach *every post*
and my receiver, as well as EVERY other element receiver I have seen in person, had broken in the same spot, not even almost every or alot or them, EVERY single one was broken in front of the charging handle |
