Battery/Charger/Famas connector issues.

Hello,

I bought a TM Famas off a member on ASC, the leads from the gun / battery / and charger were stripped and replaced with these shitty little red male/female connectors, which fugging melted my charger, so now I'm stuck with a brand new famas/8.4v batt that have unique connectors not used on retail chargers/batteries..

What are the little transparent white connectors called, on the end of the battery/gun/charger? someone said "camia" or something? I haven't been able to find them on google or anything, maybe the wrong spelling?

here's a picture of what I mean, http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA280_.jpg . the white plastic parts at the end that have red/black wire in them.

Sounds like the ones it was replaced with are Deans connectors, which are in fact far superiour to those clear white Tamiya connectors that come on everything.

Ah, yes, I googled Deans connectors, those are what I have currently, though, they are starting to melt..on the battery/famas/charger (the charger cords literaly melted into liquid)

My guess is either they're not real deans (shitty knockoffs), or more likely, the wire is far too light. 16GW is the minimum I'd ever use on airsoft equipment. Got any pics?

I run deans in my Famas, never had a problem. If you have an ohmmeter or continuity checker, use it. If deans are wired lazily, its very possible to create a short.

Deans are actually a great connector, im switching over to them for all my guns.

The white connectors you talk about are Tamiya. they come in large and mini.

Oh, BTW, if you are using that charger you have linked..... thats your problem there.

Ive had two pass through my hands, both duds. Alot of local guys apparently have had problems with them too.

IMO, a good charger should never blow a fuse while charging, fuses are to protect from shorts, so if i have to buy 5 packs of fuses for these things for normal charging, forget it.

Plus, i run NiCDs too, so my good charger has a built in discharger that automatically switches to charge when fully discarged. mmmm MOFSET charger....

Hmm, well i have yet to blow a fuse on mine, been using it for about 6 months now.

Works fine for my NiHM batterys, but if you use NiCads, i can understand why you would want a better unit

You must have got a dud. I've been using one for 3 years no issue. Yours is the first case I've heard about any have a bad experience with them.
