Question Cabela's Kraken Ak-47..HELP!!

Hey all,

I really need your help here.. yesterday I bought the Kraken Ak-47 on cabela's.ca , and I read at some place that they misprinted their infos on the gun and at other place I saw that I will get a crappy gun. So I really need to know what gun im gonna receive and maybe ill try to cancel it(I paid it 220$!!).. When I bought it I thought it would be the Aftermath Kraken Ak-47..Is the cabela's one an aftermath, is it an older version of the kraken or what??On the picture it look the same thing.. Here is the link: https://www.cabelas.ca/index.cfm?pag...usearch=834101

Plz I really need your help fast!

Sorry for my english

The picture you linked too has a clear rear sight block... I've never seen a kraken with that clear before.

So do you think it will be the aftermath kraken with 370fps or another crappy gun?

I think you'd probably want one of the older versions of the aftermath. Before they used to be like 90% TM compatible but now people are saying 75-80% TM compatible.

Also you'd potentially be getting more reliability assuming it's a weaker spring. 370 is with .12's most likely but I wouldn't doubt if they used .20's and tossed in a stiffer spring. 300 is way too low though, you should be getting something in the 310-330 range (assuming .20's).

Best thing to do is not worry about it and chrono it yourself when you get it.

No idea... But I'll put it this way, I'm willing to get a kraken but I'm not willing to get that.

Nope... it's 100% TM compatible... Unless I remembered something wrong. I have a Kraken, but don't permenantly have a TM AK to compare every detail to.

EDIT:newest version has a metal stock plate and comes in a cardboard box.

hey there i work at cabela's and the kraken is 100% tm compatible to tell you the truth the kraken is better than the tm. it might not have the fit and finish the tm has but it is much stronger and the fps is 380 to 400 the most that i have seen out of the box is 415 it is a good gun for the money. the only plm that i have seen out of the factory is whatever china man is drunk he has greased the electrical contacts making the gun not fire for very long out of the box they just need to be cleaned. other than that it will out do most of the 500 to 1000 dollar guns out there.

FPS on TM compatible airsoft guns means nothing, lets just hope you get an aftermath gun that's compatible with TM parts, because Aftermath is using old Cyma gearboxes, there are a couple small fitment issues if you're going to be putting high-end parts into the gun.

The gun's range an accuracy comes from the tightness of the air seal, the hop-up chamber and rubber, and the consistency of the inner barrel. I've seen well tuned 250 FPS guns out preform china-clone 400 FPS guns.

Alot of high end aftermarket cylinder heads will not work because the Cyma gearbox has an extra bit of reinforcement in the front of the mechbox that the TM one doesn't have, so the cylinder head has more material than there is room for inside the Cyma box.

If you do get the aftermath one, I'd recommend sending it off to a gun tech to get cleaned, properly greased and get the gears shimmed correctly.

If you do get something you didn't pay for, give Cabelas a call, I'm sure they have some sort of Customer Support. (I find it's easier to call them and speak with some one instead of relaying Emails back and forth.)

Hope this has been helpful, if you've got any more questions, feel free to ask
