Misfeeding CA M15
I have a CA M15 rifle that fires rounds every time when I pull the trigger on semi, but fails to pick up a round each time the piston fires when I shoot on full auto. But at the same time I have also noticed recently that I have been losing distance with my bbs, and it is almost hopped fully, so I am feeling the need to replace my hopup. However, could the feeding issue be more linked to the tappet plate, and would getting a new tappet plate remedy this issue?

when on full auto does it shoot sometimes? (double feed,....)
but sound like you are having an air leak, wich causes the range lost.... I would check with a new hopup rubber, or check if it's correctly placed, before going into the tappet plate..... |

Yeah, it double feeds sometimes, in fact, most of the time.
As for better air seals, would anything such as the cylinder head or piston head upgrades do me any better? I'll double check the hopup rubber, shouldn't be worn, I only put it in a little while ago. EDIT: I checked the hopup, and it's slightly hard where the bbs make contact, but there are no chips or anything. Not sure if this would have an effect but I don't think so other than effecting the range/accuracy. Last edited by JamesBond_007; May 30th, 2009 at 21:42.. |

on my hk416, before chrismas 2008, I had the same problem.... and it was caused by the fact that I had put a new hopup rubber in it, and it was misaligned, so in the area where the bbs entered, it was a little bit ''oval'' (because it was squeezed during shipping IMO) so the bbs were jamming there, my guntech made me notice that... so he changed the rubber and the problem was gone.... but ya check for that....
and also with that issue fixed, the accuracy and range came back! |

I doubt this is a hop up rubber problem. sector clip should solve your misfeeding problem on full auto. What it does is it delays the nozzle timing for better feeding.
Hope that helps |

How would I go about adjusting that?

but when did your gun start to misfeed?

It's been doing it pretty well since I got it (about 1.5 years now). I usually only use it on semi though. The hopup rubber is new, and that didn't help the problem at all.

first check for the rubber before going into mechbox work.... try a different one, the old one...
then if it still doesnt work do as Skladfin said... |

Oh the old one was completely fucked, so trying that will be problematic. On that note, I've been into the mechbox before, it's fairly heavily upgraded in fact.

you just install the sector clip onto the sector gear.

So I have managed to get the rifle firing properly on full auto, had to replace the piston head o-ring to get better compression, switched out the sector gear for one with that timing device, and voila - it works.
Although, I'm not getting much range from it at all. I'm getting bbs curving to the ground. I'm feeling however that this is the hopup. I've heard that CA hop-ups aren't that great, so I believe I might replace the entire housing and see. |
