It has a trigger, therefore they think it's illegal.

Dispute it.. but prepare to get into a 2 year long battle.

theres a similar thread on here about a guy who had a gearbox seized recently, apparently those brilliant individuals at the CBSA are now classifying these things as receivers.

dispute it, show that for it to be a receiver, it would need to be the body of a gun, and since the deadly "gearbox pistol" is not any kind of gun in any way shape or form, then you can maybe get your shit back, tell them its the internal replacement part for a clear gun you bought at walmart that broke

Yep... anyway it's gonna be a long battle, and I am leaving country in less than a month.
By the time I get it, maybe two years later, I will have to sell it... damn...

Nice. You hit someone with a head on their shoulders. That seems to be a rarity amongst CBSA inspectors. You won the lottery...

The detaining of mechbox won't usually survive past the initial error. Internal CBSA policy is that mechboxes aren't receivers. If anyone in CBSA is likely to miss that fact, it's the lowest guy on the totem doing the initial screenings.

I was worried something similar was going to happen with a systema gearbox I ordered a couple weeks ago, but the customs agents in BC let everything through, must be a Eastern canada issue so far.
