Opinions in Camo
HI there.
Currently I am torn between 3 types of Camo. I have done tons of research on all 3. I would just like a few personal opinions on what ASC thinks is best. I live in North Western Ontario; a mixture of shrubbery trees and tall grass is the normal playing field. I have narrowed it down between the Dark Green CADPAT, Woodland MARPAT and the German Fleck tarn camo's. Each has its pro's and cons. The CADPAT is nice because it is Canadian. The MARPAT is a good mixture of Brown and Green. The Fleck tarn is pretty cool it also has a pattern well suited for the area. Personally I am leaning towards Fleck Tarn, but I want your guys opinions. Thanks! |

Any of those would work great, actually. It's really a matter of preference. US Woodland is another that works well in this part of Canada. I tend like like CADPAT best though.

Thanks.
I am still kinda lost on which camo to go with though. US Woodland looks quite common. I think my decision is between CADPAT and Fleck Tarn. Decisions, decisions, decisions.... |

I personally like CADPAT the best, but I settled for Woodland because it was cheap and easy to find
If I were you, pick CADPAT. |

Whichever you chose, I suggest getting a vest that's a neutral color like olive drab or coyote brown rather than a matching camo vest. You'll find that down the road, if you get different pattern BDUs, those 2 will match with almost any camo pattern, so you'll be able to stick with your existing rig rather than having to get a completely new loadout.

Agreed. OD, Tan, Black.... any of those would be good. And then you can match your other stuff to your vest. Like you goggles, gloves, boots etc.

Danish M84 ... you get the green like CADPAT, but you get the cool flectarn pattern. And +1 for the OD/CB (solid color) vest, for versatility.

Although it will work with any cam pattern, black actually stands out a lot in the woods. From my outdoor games to date, I've always been able to easily pick out a black vests over any other colour.

Agreed. I also find tan sticks out pretty bad most of the time. OD really is the best option.

Without any shade of doubt - MARPAT works the best in Thunder Bay.
LITERALLY EVERYONE, except me, in WWII OD, wears it. They wear it for a reason. It works. Period.
