Ace of Spade's L119A1 WIP thread

So in the spirit of all things L119A1, here is my WIP.

Based off of this picture (but a bit more modernized):

Mk1

Mk2

Installed Army Code barrel and slapped on a 4-Position stock. Still got a lot of internal work and small parts to add-on / do, but over all I'm very pleased with how my project is going.

Oh yea... I know there is electrical tape holding the fat part onto the barrel, I don't have a -14mm flash hider since my G&P one was a +14mm =/ And yea, I don't got a charging handle or bolt release as I just slapped it back together for a pic.

Still need to get the following parts for it:

Large pistol grip
KAC Rail Covers
Stock pad
Rear sling plate
SA80 Sling

I'm not 100% on getting a L119A1 front sight any time soon, might just do some mod work with the putty to make it look the part. I just got a dremel, so going to mod a LiPo into the buffer tube and probably stick a Trigger Master in some where.

Internally, its a Systema drop in mechbox, but I may look at the new Revolution box sometime in the future.

You'll also need a rear mounting sling plate, front ris swivel sling adapter and SA80 3pts sling

I'm gonna order the sling plate when I need to order the pistol grip and pad.

Since I'm going for the ghetto oldskool version, would it not be proper to use the front sight sling mount and not a RIS one? And I quite like my Para cord sling right now... but maybe a SA80 one sometime down the road.

Did you get into contact with your contact about the DIS?

Yup I'll shoot you the guy email so you can order yours!

Mine is on thw way

And yeah if you're going for earlier L119 you won't need the front RIS swivel adapter.

I only lack a buttpad one mine... (and of course proper Surefire can, but fuck those are pricy)

Mmmmmmmm.... DIS. I can't wait to get my tax return back. The one time paying the high Ontario taxes, yet living out of province is a benefit =/

Ronan: I've gone through an M14, a SCAR and a M4 CQBR and was in the process of building at SOPMOD Block 1 before I realized that I should just go back to the basics of fine weaponry. Nothing too too gucci (The L119A1 is already pretty gucci as it is). Handling a real C8 16" was the culminating point for me to make to move to a KISS set up. Less gear, less weight, more speed, more fun.

We should just turn this thread in an L119A1 lover thread!!! Ordered my barrel extensions last week (so I can still sport my 10.5 and screw my can or screw the exntesion and have the full lenght version!). Sling plate and SA80 slings are coming and DIS as well.

And you totally have to put a pic of that barrel mounted on that bad boy!

^^ Just for you I slaved over my spares today and after my water-polo match to finish Mk2 of my L119A1

I have my DIS on the way as we speak =D Cost me a bit more then you had said, but I think that just because shipping ended up being quite expensive =(

Are you still in QC? We should try and meet up at a game and take a pic of both of our L119A1's when they are done.

First post is now updated with the new pics!

Lerch: I know I know, I may be able to nab one this summer, but being a good officer, I can't let my klepto habits take to much advance =(
