ACM M500 Broken Part

Well I was at a game with a friend on Monday and he said he just cocked the gun and it didn't shoot, and then it wouldn't cock again. I took a look at it and noticed a broken part (#20). I'm just curious if anyone could shed some light on where I might get a replacement and how difficult you figure it is to install. I do some of my own work for repairs and upgrades so I'm not completely new to this type of thing, however with that being said... I have never worked on a shotgun so this is a little different.

I just took a look around on even WGC and RedWolf and no one seems to carry the deep fire charging handle set, let alone the single one I need. Help... ?

that sucks. looks like it broke at the point where pin #40 would hold it in place. if you're at all capable, I'd attempt to take it out and see if you could cut one out of metal and some how reinforce that spot.

Yeah, I guess I could try and make shift it. Its looking like that is my only option at this point... even retailers in the UK don't carry the part. :S

yep the part looks repairable
I'd either add something stronger to replace the missing bit,
or drill another hole beside the former one and do so for the other parts...

I wanted to see what the total was if I were to order those parts from the site you gave. What fucking BULL shit, 18.11 shipping for something so small... I hate the internet sometimes lol. Looks like my buddy will be paying shipping if I can't rebuild the piece.

That's exactly what it costs to ship a base package from HK to Canada.

Add more stuff, the price wont change that much.

well, if anyone else is interested, we could do a small group buy. I'd be interested in getting 2 sets. shipping via UPS ground (only method of shipping) is not that bad for more.

1 - 18.11
2 - 18.93
3 - 19.91
4 - 20.93
5 - 20.93
6 - 21.81

There is still a good chance on getting dinged with customs, brokerage and duty though. an order of 5 would be the cheapes for shipping but then put the total shipment value up at $125USD

I didn't realize it was coming from over seas, I thought it was in the US which would make it bullshit, but thats quite reasonable I suppose to come from HK :P

Have the exact same shotgun. Same charging handle problem. Check my thread to see how you go about replacing them.

The handles I bought were the ones Murdoch recommended. MUCH better.

essentially the same as the private parts. both are made of steel.

I doubt anyone has done a stress test on both and compared the two.

I could bend the pot metal ones with my fingers. These steel ones are undeniably strong, a huge step up from the stock handles.

Hell I suggest if anyone gets the ACM M500 (or even other models), they get these steel charging handles too. Because regardless of what you do, the stock ones WILL break.

agreed.

the private parts are similar to the proud ones. both steel.

your posts could potentially confuse people by pushing one aftermarket part over the other. since no one has done a comparison it's impossible to say which is better.
