First GBB, KSC Steel Slide G19, started to become inaccurate after 500+ shots

Hi Guys & Gals,
I bought my first GBB a couple of weeks, I purchased a KSC G19. I've been amazed at how accurate this thing is, until a couple of days ago where it started to be inaccurate. It's not every shot that is inaccurate, maybe about 5 out of the whole magazine. But it's frustrating as I don't know why.

I've read your previous information and listened to previous suggestions, such as cleaning it or disassembling it... The thing is I don't know how to do any of that and my manual is in Japanese. I've scoured the internet to see if I can find an english version of the manual posted and so far I've been unlucky.

I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to tell me in their experience what is the most likely cause of this inaccurancy and explain to a noob how to fix it themselves. It's a 2 hour drive to the store, so if I could I would rather try some stuff at home.

Thanks in advance for any help that you Guys, Gals can give me.

Have a Great Week

The hopup could be damaged?

Well to my recollection (I dont have the gun in front of me so I am just doing it by memory):

There are two notches in the center of the frame push down both at the same time and the upper slide should slide forward and away from the frame. (Comes off the way the bb shoots out)

The Recoil spring comes off next. There should be a flat part of the recoil mechanism that hits the outer barrel. Push on that piece it should retract pull it away and it should come off.

Then just slide the outer barrel out and the inner barrel and hopup should come out too.

Take out the inner barrel and hopup unit it should come out together.

Check the hopup rubber on the inside and see if is torn or damaged.

What types of bbs were you using?

What do you consider accurate for a GBB? I know the KSC G19 very inimately, in stock form, upgraded and with different mods and ammo weights. You'll have to outline all that you've seen and done, and we can go from there. And yes, cleaning the barrel does wonders for any airsoft gun, especially a GBB.

I had something like that happen with my KSC G17. It was a tack driver, then the odd shot started going off, then more, until I had BBs going all over the place except on my target. I found that my hopup rubber was pretty badly mangled and falling apart. Not sure what caused that. I got a new hopup rubber and it's been working fine since.

Thanks for all your answers, I'll try to answer the questions in order.

1) I'll be honest and say that I don't know how to clean the barrel. I did try using a Qtip and gently wiping the inside of the barrel. What is the best way to clean the barrel?

2) I've had a look at where the BB goes into the barrel and I don't see that the rubber is dry, cracked, torn or broken. I did observe that there is a lump in the rubber (I presume is the hop-up ball bearing) positioned at approx 8 o'clock.

3) I'm using new BBs each time (was advised not to recycle BBs), they're unbranded and pure white.

4) In terms of accuracy, I was shooting 4" targets easily from 21' Now I'll miss 4-5 shots out of the whole magazine. I tried shooting a plastic milk bottle (half gallon) and I get the same thing, about 4-5 shots go astray.

Maybe that is your problem, the BB's you are using is unbranded.
Try brand names, like TM, KSC perfects.

Are you doing your accuracy test on a bench rest?

UPDATE: Today I did another experiment, I counted the shots to see which ones missed and which ones hit.

I first pushed a very soft rolled up tissue through the barrel in an attempt to clean it, it came out slightly dirty.

I loaded the mag with 20 BB's and I fired the first 15 singularly and marking on the target where each shot hit. Shot # 6 missed completely (and sounded different). I then fired 5 more shots, one directly after the other, they all hit. I then discovered that I had 1 BB left. Which would make 21 shots, but I know I only loaded 20 BB's and the barrel was empty before I started. This leads me to believe that sometimes the BB is not being loaded correctly.

When I get more time I will attempt this experiment again to confirm my findings. If it is the case, that the BBs are not being loaded each shot, what would you recommend?

I'm an English guy, who's married to a TW gal, and hangs out with a bunch of expat Canadians who also live here in TW.
