Lipo batteries
I have been reading some threads about lipo batteries and I am still confused. Do you need a lower volt lipo battery than a conventional one? I read about how a lipo can put you rpm at 1300, and can prematurmly ruin your internals. So if right now I have a 9.6v 2300 mah for my G3, what would be a proper lipo? Also do you need a different charger?

diffrent charger is a big must lipo packs need to be balanced and the wrong charger could literally turn it into a ball of fire
I am still unsure on the whole voltage thing as far as lipo is concerned with airsoft, but am going to be testing out a 7.4v pack in place of a 8.4. Lipos offer a lot more punch than a nimh or nicd pack and as such i am guessing that a 7.4 will be more than sufficient without sacrificing the life of your gearbox or motor but its all speculation for me right now maybe someone with more experience with lipos with airsoft will know more mine is all with rc use
