In Calgary, with the JOC club, the limit for a bolt action is 480 FPS. You'll have to check the clubs and fields you play at.

some fields allow 450 for BA sniper rifles, if you can get it down to that level you should be ok

Putting heavyer BBs to lower the velocity don't make the gun field legal or safer.
Fps should be chronied with .20g as a benchmark. If you cheap the guy at the chronograph, IMO, it's enough to be banned from the game.

Just downgrade the spring a little, and defiantly don't try to cheat the Chronies using anything besides .20grams. That will most defiantly get you kicked out, or banned.

What Fox is saying, is that FPS limits are based on joules of force, not the speed of the bb.
I mean when you think about it, wouldn't limiting the speed be kind of ridiculous? lol Make sure your under 400fps so the guy your shooting at has ample time to avoid the bb |

As already echoed by others, you wouldn't be allowed to use that gun on the field even with a downgraded spring. Most games won't allow someone to just walk in and be a sniper with a high power rifle if they don't know the person. Getting a sniper rifle for anything other than plinking is pretty useless for a non-experienced player.
And I would second the suggestion of getting age-verified. You'll have access to the classified and retailer sections of ASC where you'll have access to better quality guns than the Broxa. Unless you know how to tear it apart and give it a bunch of preventative maintenance out of the package, there's a fair chance that the Broxa wouldn't survive your first game.

Just getting over the fact there are trigger happy people and noobs with 400fps full auto's running around makes me think twice about sticking my head around a corner. |

Get Age Verified, look through the classified and find yourself a nice AEG.

Broxa's are pretty bottom end stuff...they work, but they're rough around the edges. Aim for $200-250. Up a notch will run you $350-ish. "Good old" AEGs will still run you $450+. Like before, you tend to get what you pay for. A smart charger (red light = charging, green light = done) will run you $36. Batteries are $20-35 new. Highly recommend airsoftparts.ca for all those bits. The classifieds should have a few MP5 mags kicking around. Get age verified as said...there's sure to be some good started packages on there. TTAC3 (Brian), Airsoftparts.ca (Jugglez) are convenient places to get AV. There's often verifiers at the local games...especially if you post asking for one. Best of luck, Tys |
