Tricks and Tips for a KWA M9 PTP
I just bought a KWA M9 PTP and am loving it. However i find it hard to put the slide back on, it seems like the recoil spring is falling down catching on the lock. Is their a trick to this procedure? I am also wondering where the normal wear spots are for this gun and proper maintenance for it?
What parts are prone to break from use? And if theirs any other tips for this gun its greatly appreciated. Im not interested in hearing "well if you would have bought this guns then have wouldnt have these problems" . I am also interested in the guns pros and cons. Thanks for the tips Pat |

One trick is turn the gun upside down the the spring doesn't catch and if it doesn't go in good enough play around with the slide detach lever (just wiggle it). Wear areas the slide rails after about 500 shots or less put some silicone oil into them or when ever you store it and check the rails if their dry then oil it as well.if your using propane then oil around the gas valve and this also means you will have to maintain the gun more often. hope that helps I know it's long.

You might have broken the recoil spring, my two m9 baretta both have a little notch that comes off the recoil spring & locks into the lower of the barrel.
Neither of the barettas are made by KWA but both have this feature. My TM glock on the other hand has the same issue you describe & i've found its just a matter of lining it up properly and slamming it into place. |

I just brought one and to confirm it happens to me too Pat. It just takes some patience. The cons i found for this gun was the decocker. It hard to use with one hand. You have to slide it right otherwise it doesn't decock and the slide moves back. One pro for me is the mount. I got the tactical version.

As below, they can be tricky at first, but have paitents. The butt of the sprong guide has to be on that block just right otherwise it'll either not slide in or keep poping out. Quote:
