TM Sig 552 Motor
Now I am not sure if this is a problem or not, as this is my first airsoft gun but when i shoot auto and stop i can hear the motor click and feel the grip shake. But it does not do it when i fire single shot. Is this normal?

Sounds like maybe your anti-reversal latch is broken or missing, causing the gears and motor to unwind when you stop mid-cycle in full auto. Semi makes one full cycle, so on semi it would act normally.

How would i find out if my latch is broken or missing. were would i look and if it is broken will it cause any damage to the gun if i still use it? And were do I get a new one?

you want to find your nearest gun doc and get that fixed, as you now have metal parts janglin around in your gearbox. if you just let it slide and keep using it, you're gonna be in for a surprise when the whole shebang shits the bed and you end up with a paperweight.
AR latches aren't expensive, and gundoc's are only like 15-20 bucks an hour. if its just a straight up AR latch replace then it's not a long job. under an hour is my guess. |

I did a top end (cylinder, piston, spring etc) swap on a Sig552 in an hour or so, an AR latch will be under an hour if the guy doesn't dick around.

If i shake the gun i don't hear anything move around. But I will see if i can find anyone in my area who can fix it. Oh and is it not advisable that i try to fix it myself?

yes and no. The actual act of replacing it isn't technically difficult, but there is alot of small spring loaded parts that could really f*** things up if you don't know what you're doing. You can look up www.mechbox.com, they have a step by step tutorial on how to open a gearbox up. Just make sure you know how to get the box out of the gun, and which version it is.

Is there any way to confirm if the AR latch is broken with out taking the gun apart? Maybe if i shoot single but stop pressing the trigger before the motor can make a full shot?

It is normal that you don't hear any rattling noize even if there is a part that is broken. Most stock mechboxes are WAY overgreased. The broken parts will stick to the grease for some time, but the vibration caused by the use of the gun will surely dislodge it.
Then you are in for some trouble. An anti-reversal latch is 2.50$ USD. Under 1h to replace it (I know it takes me about 30 minutes, including cleaning and re-greasing). With shipping both ways, it can cost you under 70$. If you choose to keep running it that way, I can guaranty you that your gears will be killed and probably your piston at the same time. Gears are between 25-50$ USD (cheap ones). And this requires a full mechbox work... You are looking at a 150-200$ job (including the parts) instead of 70$... There is almost nothing else that can cause the symptoms you described. Better have it repaired right now.
