KWA 1911 DS PTP Custom Parts?

I just got one of the new KWA 1911 DS PTP's in a trade.

I was wondering what parts I could use to customize it.

I'm new to the whole 1911 scene, and couldn't find any custom parts for it on the net. I googled the shit out of it.

If anyone knows anything about this pistol, feel free to post.

Thanks....................dragwindsor

You need to ask Racing Maniac, or RM, about anything related to 1911's. I don't know much about the KWA, only a bit about the WE, but RM has two 1911's that are custom.

I must add that they are very sexy customs. You can't go without adding that.

:P

Good luck man.

I don't even think there is much upgrades for KWA GBBs.
There's most likely some internals.

KWA = KSC

It's basically the export version of KSC.

Plenty of upgrades.

Visit http://www.kwausa.com and you'll find that their PTP line of pistols already have all the heavy duty parts (ie. mags come with high flow valves, etc...), so there is really nothing you can upgrade that already isn't.

Not quite in this case. This is the PTP - professional training pistol - version, not the standard KWA that's the Taiwanese version of KSC. The PTP line, be it the M9, Sig P22x, or this, take different mags and parts than the standard KWA / KSC.

Hmm, that is true.
But their performance parts are coming soon.

Agreed....

As well, I had the chance to handle the PTP 1911 DS, and it's nice, but a 1911 has a certian stigma about it, and these DS versions have a tactical under rail....a bonus for some people, but it just doesn't have the same stigma.

I'm staying with my PTP M9.
...The only real performance part I'd be interested in for it, would be some new type of gas diverter (or reed valve) that would redirect a higher percentage of the gas forward and less back (IMO it already kicks hard enough).

I'd ditch it in favour of a KJW Kimber/Hicapa. TM compatibility, and has combat sights, which means that the MEU slides will be able to work with it.

Plus, it comes stock with a TK finger fits grip.

That looks like a double stack magazine grip. Is it? Cause it's not really a 1911 then. More like a Hicapa or 2011. Looks like a 3 peice gun.
4.3 size I'd say.

Not helping, but just wondered.

My PTP M9 can take real grips, so I'd assume that the same is true for the 1911DS. But as for the slides....Im not sure.

Good luck.

Like I said it looks like a Hicapa-style 3 peice gun, so you could go for a Shooter's Design grip or a Tanio Koba tactical grip.

I have the TK grip and I LOVE it.

Its a 3 piece. Slide, midframe, grip. Double stack. I'd say 2011.
