Optics protection...where and what?

Hello,

I just recently saw the glass of my flashflight get destroyed by a BB and decided to invest in protection for my red dot, scope and flashlight.

Someone used to sell custom made plexiglass protectors on the forums but he's not in this business anymore.

Simple question : what else exists and where?

I think it was "Amos".

If he's not selling his stuff anymore...you could take a sheet of lexan from Home Depot/Rona/etc., cut a circle that matches your thing and black electrical tape it on.

Yeah I tought of that but cutting the lexan is where it gets tougher. What would you suggest? A hobby saw? A dremel?

If I didn't have a hole-saw, I'd rough it out with a coping saw and then clean it up on my disc sander. A little angle jig would be easy to setup and would ensure that it's round. Doing it by hand to finish dimensions would be a pain.

A hole-saw, don't know if they still call them that, is handy. There's two types, ones that are a set size...used for cutting out door/lock holes and another which is adjustable. The adjustable one is handy. It's like a little, but beefy bar that spins on a drill press. There's a cutter that you can position anywhere along the bar. Can't go very deep but good enough for a sheet of plastic.

Depends on how careful you are.
