Help me price a trade
I have a local that wants to sell me the following package:
Used TM HiCapa 5.1 Bag of unspecified BBs AI propane adapter bundle I made an offer of 250$ that was accepted. When the trade was going to happen, he shows up with nothing but the Capa and it's mag. No BBs, no adapter, no Capa rail or accessories. The mag was leaking and the gun had damaged controls. The safe lever has a couple of missing parts, so the control is there, just no spring. The slide catch is kinda wonky, more often than not letting the slide cycle on an empty mag. I fixed the mag, but the rest of the problems are still there. What would be a reasonable counter offer on this package? |

It really depends on the condition, does it even cycle/fire? How bad is the leak, got pictures? Did the guy use it as a doorstop/hammer? If the guy doesn't seem to know what hes talking about chance are there are a lot more things messed up. I say 150 tops, thats if it functions (IE, slap in a loaded mag and I can empty it).

Gun cycles well, the problems are not related to the primary functions.

total up the cost of all the replacement parts+the items that he promised that
he did not include+cost of installation (if you aren't doing it yourself)+admin fees and subtract it from his initial price |

Got Pics? If the leak isn't so bad, like a slow leak, I say 150 is reasonable. I would not go higher, the guy already lied significantly about the condition of gun. heck go meet up with, wave $140 cash in his face, im betting hes going to take it. otherwise walk away, no need for a paper weight.

$250 - $42 (propane adaptor) - $20 (bbs) - $10 (plunger/spring set) - $20 to 40 for shipping/time wasted = $158-138
Used is used...buyer beware. It's up to the buyer to discover as much about the wear and tear of a used item and that they are comfortable with the state/condition of the item(s). Great sellers will go out of their way to fully disclose anything not-mint/new...but it's painfully obvious that's not always the case with every trade/sale. Now, if the guy said that it was mint and that there were zero issues with it...I'd walk away from it. Why give $0.01 to a guy like that in the first place? Best of luck getting this sorted out. |

Walk away from the deal. Save your money for a gun that doesn't have issues and a seller that sticks to deals.
The fact he didn't bring what was offered should be a red flag.

I wouldn't get it at all. Or at most, $150 if you really, really want the gun and get get it in top shape.
