Hello folks. Can someone please tell me what type of fuse and it's respective rating which I should use for my ArmaLite M15A4? Thanx.

Depends on your motor loading (ie how strong your spring is) and the voltage your battery produces, what type of gearing you have, etc.
Stock guns (standard ratio gears, 300ish FPS, 8.4-9.6V battery) can usually get by on 15A fuses. Most stock guns use AGC-type fuses.

go to walmart and buy a little multipack of bus fuses i think theyre called.
i found that they all work, just differently. theyre cheap so dont worry about blowing one or two. put them in the fuse box but dont close it, then fire the gun. if the metal bar in the fuse bends then its probly gonna blow later. the less bending the better the fuse. i have a 25a in my jg416 and its workin fine. the higher the voltage on your battery the more stress its gonna put on a fuse. for example i had to put a 32a fuse in a gun that i was using an 11.1v lipo with

Higher voltage means lower current. The motor has a fixed load (the spring and gearing), so the more voltage you apply, the less current your motor needs to generate the power required.
P (power) = V (voltage) x I (current) This is very simplistic, but can be used for simple motors like these. If you see the element bending quickly and blowing after a few rounds, you have a serious draw problem. And Dusti69, you put in a 32V fuse, not a 32A fuse. I've changed many hundreds of fuses, and never seen 32A, but 32V is very common.

ok. i was just calling them a's cuz a lot of them have an a after the number. i didnt really get it though. my dad gave them to me and tried explaining it all to me but all i gather from it is the higher the number the stronger the fuse. also something about a stronger fuse not carrying the batteries power as good as a lower one would. i dunno, thats just what he was telling me a few months ago, but he doesnt know anything about airsoft guns. he was just helping me with some wiring
but the trial and error does work. youre gonna find which ones are too weak for your gun and which ones work better. for less than 3 dollars. so like youre not at a loss by blowing 2 or 3 til you find the right one i was just doing it yesterday afternoon when i blew my 416s fuse somehow. i put one that was too weak in it and it melted from one shot on semi and i mean melted.... into liquid. i put in a 25 fuse with the wide flat bar thats skinnier in the middle. it doesnt bend or wiggle or vibrate while firing so i was satisfied with that, i figured well that wont be blowing anytime soon

A fuse that's under a dollar can save you from replacing a 40$ battery, and time from re-wiring everything. |

i personally always use fuse. They don't make your gun fire any worse, and it's a sub-$1 insurance that saves you big time in the future.

id say 20's are about like an average kind of fuse best for most aeg's
and they didnt put a fusebox in aeg wiring for no reason. if it served no purpose it wouldnt be there

Okay then, I'll try between 15 to 20 amps, but at what voltage rating for the fuse?

..... so nobody cares to venture a reply?

+1. A properly installed fuse should have no detrimental effect on AEG performance.
