Will it damage the Gun, Battery or anything if shooting w/o BBs

Hi guys,

Will I damage the gun, battery or anything if I test firing the gun w/o mags and bbs?

Yes, dont fire your gun without bbs too much because it will take a toll on your weapon.

It puts additional stress on the mechbox which may shorten your gun's life. I'm not sure about the numbers but I know MadMax has done some tests on it. Try not to dry fire unless necessary (such as to make sure your spring's decompressed after use) and you'll get the most out of it. I don't see why you would want to too much anyways.

I like the sound of firing. But yes, I won't dry fire if it will short the gun life.

if youre working on your gearboxes often youre probly going to be test firing them which will be dry firing of course and when you unload your gun you should always fire once or twice to clear the last bb out and release spring tension and when you do that you may or may not dry fire
when youre working on your gearboxes its usually a good idea to test fire it once or twice to make sure it works properly before you put it back in your gun
dry/test firings gonna be necessary sometimes but try to keep it down to a minimum as much as possible

When there isn't anything that blocks the air thats coming out of the barrel, the piston will hit the cylinder head too fast, applying shocks to the mechbox, which means more metal fatigue.
