Any of you with a STOCK Western Arms 92FS and running propane? Or have in the past ?
I'd like to hear your experiences. How long have you been using propane in this gun ? Anything get ruined ? |

Is 4 weeks a necro-post? LOL
I've run maybe 500 rounds with propane/green gas through mine and haven't had any issues yet, but I wouldn't say that makes it safe, I've just been lucky. It's a really nice gun and one day I'll be regretting it when the slide fractures, especially since a metal slide seems almost impossible to find for this gun. (If you aren't looking to spend $300 plus.) If you're attached to the gun then I'd say play it safe and stick to duster... BTW - nice avatar! Last edited by Craig_W; September 28th, 2008 at 18:21.. |

I have a WA 92FS. I have used propane in it with no issues. However, that doesn't necessarily mean it's safe either. Mine is a fairly rare model and it's a collection piece (stainless model with white grips), so I don't use it often.
I did install a stiffer recoil spring in it (old spring from my KJW M9) so that it would absorb more of the shock of propane use, however, I still don't trust it completely. I tend to use mostly duster with a small shot of propane to give it some extra power. Works very well, but it seems that the combination of the 2 gasses gives less gas mileage. I can barely squeeze off a full mag using the mixed gas, whereas I can do 2 mags per fill on propane, and about 1.5 on duster.

Skully, Crunch... Get some flow-reducers.
Simple to install, and it'll make WA take propane like champions. |

I could be mistaken, but everywhere I've checked, it says that the AI flow restrictors are for WA 1911 models only. Is that the case?
