Cheap Hydration Backpacks!
Was looking through Wal-Mart and saw these for 20$ and under.
Not bad not bad if you don't want to spend 40$ or more for packs that match your vest/rig. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=4645499 I like this one. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=6560522 |

That's the US website unfortunately. Canadian one (walmart.ca) doesn't seem to have those.

There's a bunch of shitload of stuff they haven't updated on the Canadian website. I'm going to head there today hopefully and check it out.

Do they use a propriatary bladder? If the bladder craps on you, you might be stuck with a man purse.

Wallmart ones will probably shatter if you leaned gently against a wall.

Okay, went there and nothing.
Went to Canadian Tire, they have one, but looks too big and weird. The Bladder seems thick material but mouth piece was plasticy. I'd rather buy from eBay zone 69 had pointed out. |

Pantac have a nice hydration system (aparently), in the form of their MBSS backpack, it also mounts to molle rigs. I've got one in the mail, I'll do a write up on the gear in Sept.

I just don't trust the Chinese-made bladders. Can't help but fear their plastic will leach some toxic crap into my water. Platypus + MOLLE hydration pouch is still my preferred setup.

I'd used Camelbacks for years cycling and had always though it would have been the thing to have had on a long march.
I just go a new Camel back a 3L thermo back and it's worth it. Just the QD hose on the bladder alone is a huge step. |
