New AEGs at Cabela's (aka SIR)

just got my fall season catalogue today

they got some new stuff and here's the two interesting ones

1: Panther Arms(aka shit brand) M4A1
$249.99
From the picture it looks like it's TM compatible and you can obviously see the metal gearbox through the clear body.
FPS is kind of high to be safe.

2: Sig Sauer SIG552 rifle
$219.99
I think this is the newest release from the SIG SAUER company itself(Tokyo Marui made). It's clear body and it's pretty much the exact same as TM, just clear body.

FPS is around 350FPS with 0.20g if 380 with 0.12g is true.

but it seems more like a rebrand/clone of TM instead of genuine TM

Usually TM only shoot 280 stock with .2s. This advertises 380 with .12, which I'm pretty sure would be significantly more than 280 on .2. I'd suspect this is made in China or Taiwan, and not in Japan by TM.

The SIG is actually a sig make I believe. Since they have their own 'rebrands' of the TM gun. Just made canada freindly.

A-buh? What are you trying to say?

Clear guns....hmmm. Wouldn't really trust those.

I'm skeptical about the whole idea of rebranded TMs. Doesn't seem like TM would bother making clear guns, and doesn't seem like companies would bother buying clear guns from TM. Certainly no evidence to support either.

A year ago, a thread about clear guns would have met a messy demise on ASC. Now, they seem quite popular, even wanted by some folks.

I'm reminded of the MadTV skit entitled "Lowered Expectations".

Funny how we will gravitate to whatever is available, even the $49 U.S. clear LPEGs. Next year, we'll be seeing threads about which clear springer is the best.

I believe this is the gun you were thinking of Thatotherguy, I don't know if the clear one above is the same model, but the reason it's suspected that the one I linked is rebranded TM is if you look at the details it states that the motor is an EG1000.

At least $39.95 at Toys-R-Us. But can you hear the complaints about price already?

So it's not really SIG make. It's TM make.
