Broken post in mechbox
Hey there. I was just wondering if anyone knows how or if it's possible to repair a mechbox that is missing the rear post for the switch.
The mechbox is unusable because the switch doesn't hit a post and stop, it can continue backwards and slip off the trigger. |

How did this happen Styrak? Did you drop the mechbox shell for that to happen, close it too roughly or did it just do that on its own?

Too much semi-only firing will do this. The spring loaded contact switch gets slammed backwards into the post every time it's in semi-fire mode. Much better for the mechbox if you do short burst on Full-auto mode. The switch doesn't get release to fly back into the post.
I've fixed several broken post with a 3/32 steel pin JB Welded to the mechbox. Just use a 3/32 drill bit to make a hole at the same location and glue the pin.

It was an old mechbox I received. Not my doing.

SystemA reinforced mechboxes are susceptible to trigger post breakage as they're significantly thinner than the standard trigger post, in order to allow the use of extremely high torque gears.

One of the mechbox that had the post break was from a Systema M120 complete Mecha-box set. It was still new with less than 2000 rounds and had the full body post. It broke after a team training day when we were firing in semi-only all day.

The most common gearboxes i've seen break like this were GnP.. I think I have replaced 4-5 of them, only once in a systema
