I'd go with the HALO, you don't need to remove the flash hider with it. If you do go with something else that requires removal, look for a small hex nut usually on the underbelly of the flash hider, loosen then unscrew the piece.

Be wary of longer barrels in that gun, it's already shooting rather hot...

agreed,,as an owner of an A&K 249 para i say the money for the silencer and inner barrel would be better spent on othe parts of the weapon. if its looks you are going for check out the ras forend available from g&p,,i think thats who makes it. or how about the classic army cloth type box mag, that would look sweeter than a silencer on a saw gun.

*edit*

hold the phone,,i found a link for a classic army m249 ras!

Very untrue, the US uses Silencers on their support weapons quite often, Even the M60 beleive it or not.

Like I likned before, Surefire makes some specifically for SAWs.

Are they common? Hell if I know, but the product is available and it works.

Besides, I've seen silencers on shotguns in airsoft, so whatever floats your boat I guess...

Meh, people have been found building silencers for anti-aircraft weapons that supposedly worked before authorities destroyed them.

It's airsoft guys, if ya can dream it, do it and have fun with it. But if you're asking for realism, no automatic fire weapon will enjoy silencers because added back pressure will build up and cause the weapon to overheat fast. The "silencers" people have seen for said heavy weapons to my knowledge were actually designed as "heat sinks" allowing the weapon to sustain longer bursts of fire, and not actually for volume control. But the cans do appear the same shape and lengths typically.

EDIT: so its safe to say when asked what the "can" on your 249 is, you can say you hid an inner barrel in a "heat sink" for realism purposes :P.
