Mag Guard
YouTube - MagGuard Promo
This is the first time I seen one of these. Has anyone ever purchased these? I think it's a great idea, even with magazine exhanges. Also if your magazine catch broke or something, this can do the job? |

I think you're better off getting a proper hard holster and making sure your mag release is functioning properly.

I simply don't leave the mag in the gun. I've ran out of ammo for my primary once in 3 years, I usually use my secondary in pistol rounds, or while assaulting the drug lab, in that case I would have it in hand and loaded.

I don't believe that happens too often with 1911s, Glocks, or Sigs... if at all...
Kinda neat.. but not too necessary if your kit is good. |

this is a bandaid for cheap gear. use good gear and no need for this stuff.

looks useless... bottom line, don't touch the mag release... and get a better holster

Socom Mk23 is a bitch for unintentionally releasing the mag. One of the worst places to put a mag release in my opinion.

Yeah I have a TM Mk23 and just lost a mag at the local field. Grr.
Next time I'm not wearing it at all or taping the mag in. Or keeping the mag in a mag pouch on the holster until I need it. |

I've never had a problem with mags for my USP and the mag release is the same as the Mk.23. I almost lost the entire pistol one time but that was my fault for leaving the thumb break off.

I have never heard of a single person ever loosing a mag with a Safariland or Blackhawk SERPA holster, only cheap soft holsters. I know about Stalkers Glock condom made from bike innertube but see zero need for it as I bought a $40 Blackhawk SERPA off eBay and it solved that problem and also allows for a much faster draw.
As said, bandaid for cheap gear. |

Except they don't sell SERPA's for a Mk23.

Then get a more common pistol!

No! I like shooting farther, straighter, and harder than a stock gun, and not having to gas up my mag until I fire off 4 mags worth of BB's!
And being silent as hell! |
