Para 14.45 Slide broken.
Hey folks, After plinking around one day a few months ago, my return spring, spring cap and retainer shot across the room.
Now, I would like to throw a metal slide on the thing, where would i go about looking? I have already placed an ad in the classifieds looking for one. Are there any slides compatible with this gun, or is it strictly a one of slide? Sorry for the noobness. its been about 3 years since I've been on these boards. --Keenan |

Western Arms, right?
Wait for Safx to find this, or pm him. Id go to him on any matter WA related, if you can take apart the slide and post pics i can be of more help. Im assuming, repeat assuming that virtually, repeat virtually, all single stack slides are compatible with Paras. Methinks. But ask Safx. If 1911 & Para slides are compatible, look around uncompany.com, wgcshop.com for 5" WA 1911 slides NOT SV Infinity slides, there are tons of them, and your barrels are NOT compatible.

This is a western arms Para ordnance 14.45, Sorry boys i thought i specified.
It isn't a single stack as far as i know. the bb's stack in two columns in the mag. This me assuming its not. The retainer wont actually hold the spring in, its fabbed up with a handy electrical tape bushing for now as its on display. A new slide is needed unfortunately. I just wanted to know which were compatible. |

I'm 90% sure you'll need the replacement slide for the gun. 1911 and Para slides are not the same.

Bump this up from the grave!! I still have this gun and its STILL broken!
http://www.dentrinityshop.com/pr_details.jsp?pid=8585 Says for SCW LIMITED. were there ever two different slides made for this gun? Furthermore, I have found a couple slides on uncompany, but they list two slides for the para, The ultimate comp, and the ultimate special. Anyone know how i can identify which version i have? This might be of interest to you:
http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showpos...90&postcount=2 Basically SCW = Shibuya Custom Works The way that post makes it sound, there are only 2 versions you really need to worry about Pre SCW (Magna) and SCW versions. Sounds like SCW slides will fit no matter what SCW version it is since it's just "under the hood" redesigns to make it more durable or w/e. As for SCW + Magna that's not compatible as safx makes it explicit that the slide is not compatible since it's a different design from the Magna. EDIT: Now to ascertain what version your pistol is exactly..... best to ask an expert or maybe take some pics of the innards and see if someone can identify if it's SCW or Magna.

It appears i have a magna, according to what safx said in his post. Rear sights are bolted up through the chamber and Firing pin is struck by the hammer itself in the frame. I sent UN company an email with my gun criteria. Hopefully they have something for me!
Thanks to those who were helpful! I will let you know what happens, Maybe update with some pictures if things work out. |

A picture looking at the cocked hammer with the pin exposed will allow easier identification of scw / pre / w,e
Edit: not very clear, but thats what a magna will look like. - the self proclaimed western arms guru

Thanks Hattrick Well, after cross referencing and Hattrick's help it appears i have a MAGNA. PCG makes a slide for it, But so far i have been unable to source anywhere that stocks them. I am thinking that possibly they are no longer in production. I have sent out a few emails to various dealers in hopes. Can anyone confirm if any magna series slides are compatible with my para? (i'm looking at you Hattrick ) |

Yeah im curious myself where this "para and 1911 slides arnt the same" comment came from....kalnaren what are the differences?
If they arnt you're pretty screwed (not completly, you could get lucky & find one) If they are cross compatible, I may be able to source a magna infinity type metal slide. (so u'd lose the para trades) Anywho theres work to do! I'ma get looking now Edit : found one for sale!!! waiting on a responce pm'd you
