Any alternative to the JT Line of Paintball Masks?
Hello there,
This is my second official post on ASC. Hope this is the right place to post this question. Anyhow, as the topic states. Are there any? I am finding that the JT paintball mask bought for $49 is really bulky and I don't like wearing it. Would I be able to use any other type of full face protection other than these bulky masks? Thanks for all your input. Remi. |

I use a newer JT Delta made for airsoft.
A little more streamlined than their other PB masks, and cheap. Been using it for 2 years now without any issues. http://www.shopwiki.com/detail/d=JT_...jumpToFirst=t/ |

Thank you for sharing this info SAFX!
I looked at the picture in your link to the JT Airsoft mask and I had one question ... does the mask cover the cheek area? I see it does cover the nose & mouth area but the plastic front face guard seems narrow so I wasn't sure how exposed the rest of your face is. |

Oh nice. Where can you get it locally? I am in the toronto region.
Also is this mask Paintball field approved? So I can use this mask at any game? |

I bought mine off eBay USA But I'm sure any PB or Airsoft store in the US who ships to Canada would be glad to do so. I've never seen it for sale here in Canada, but I never looked to hard. Just make sure you get it shipped by USPS and not UPS or you can get a surprise brokerage fee. The face shield is streamlined so yes, there is a chance you can get clipped by a shot to the outside cheek area. In 2 years of CQB I've been hit there once, cause I was turned from the shot. Most of the shots I receive outside of the masks protection area are in the top forehead area. The mask is narrow so you can get closer to your sights for aiming, it's not perfect but far better in seal and performance than most PB masks. For $20 you can really go wrong. Only mask I use. Yep, it's a JT so you can use this at any game. |

I find the Empire E-Vents (or avatar, almost same thing) to be great masks, and I can comfortably use AK sights with them.

anyways i use a JT mask that i cannabalised for the goggles on their own, i find it nearly impossible to aim with them because they hit the stock.

( edit ) i do not recommend anything less for eye/teeth protection than a good quality pair of jt thermals. jt's can be modded for better aiming without sacrificing safety.pictured below are how i have been playing with j/t's since mar 2005. stock jt lowers with some cutting for better airflow. jt lowers after full mod with household scissors and camo paint ( lol ) hope that helps with some ideas, plus notice the cheap goggle fan? havent fogged since 2006 with this set up. You could wear a pair of ballistic glasses, there are many that provide for excellent eye protection with great ventilation.
Bolle T-800's, ESS NVG's, Wiley SG1's etc |

If he's in Toronto, most surrounding public outdoor fields don't allow for ballistics goggles/glasses.

and if youre just wearing glasses and are hit in the mouth even with a balaclava you can chip teeth.

six4 - thats pretty cool, creative and looks pretty decent.
Maybe i'll stick with the full JT mask for now and see how that goes.. I just really don't like to looks of it. Reminds me of bikers, although I have nothing against bikers. Just looks funny, a bunch of bikers playing airsoft. hahaha.. Ruins the realism of the sport. Anyhow, unfortunately I am in the Toronto region. |

i am using a JG416 fullstock with iron sights. i am aiming on getting a bolle t-800 since they have a full seal around the eyes.

those will fog up and make you as frustrated as mike tyson in a spelling contest. if you are bent on getting goggles with no face protection, look into a pair of ess with turbo fan. you will be glad you did.
