Wearing glasses while airsofting?

I recently had a vision test and got glasses because I'm somewhat nearsighted. I thought my vision was ok, until I actually put on my glasses and realized that my vision wasn't that great. I was wondering if any of you wear glasses an do anything special for airsofting, do you have sports goggle glasses, or just by larger facemasks and eye protection to accomodate them, do you find glasses a nuisance if you're using a scope?

I know some paintball mask with light modification can fit glasses. I've read another topic on this and they got a pair of goggle with fan and they work very well with glasses.

On the Quebec Team Section but the topic is in french !

They said the ESS Striker turbofan are a nice choice !

Conversly, you can get persciption lense kits for most balistic goggles and glasses.

If you can find a 3/4" computer fan, you can make your own goggle fan for under $10 and not need to blow over $100 on a purpose built goggle fan set.

I wear Mastercraft Safety Glasses (blue frame). They took a point blank (3 feet) shot from an 8mm bb at .34g going 428 FPS. That is basically as bad as it gets around these parts. It did not scratch, crack or dent. Canadian Tire, 5 bucks I think... Plus they wrap around. More importantly, they do not fog AND fit over most perscription glasses. Unless you've got Birth Control Glasses.

If you want to look tacticool, buy some Revision sawfly glasses (about 90 bucks for the deluxe kit) and send away for your prescription to be filled into one of their lense carriers (they do it for you), it'll cost 100 dollars which is comparable to getting it done yourself. It'll cost about 200 bucks in the end, but they're also good for sunglasses, so you get yourself a "cheap" pair of sunglasses (the frames alone usually cost about 200 dollars for prescription sunglasses, so consider it a bargain

).

ESS also offers prescription carriers for their products, but do not offer a service that fills the prescription for you.

Also... buy cat crap. It's the best anti-fog out there. No other product will do. If you have a scuba diving place near you (come on, Winnipeg has em even... WINNIPEG! We don't even have oceans lol) they sell it.

My bro wears a paintball mask that fits over his glasses. I don't like masks myself as they fog up. I bet some sort of ballistic lens or google will fit over nicely.

disposable contacts.....best way to go....at least its been for me over the last 6 years...used to wear glasses 24/7...now cant imagine life without my contact lenses...try them out and see how you like them....just a thought...i pay $80 for 6 pairs ..each pair lasts 3 weeks, with everday use, thats just over 3 month usage....

inserts are available for ballistic eye wear, I mean why would you wear ballistic eye wear if you can't see what your shooting at anyways

I use ESS Advancer 12's...with the RX inserts, it's the best pair of goggles you'll ever wear. I'm too cheap however, and I took the arms off an old pair of glasses which actually fit inside the goggles nicely.

My JT paintball goggles fit over my glasses without a problem. They were the cheap $30 from Cambodian Tire.

No need to get really expensive here.

Easy thing to do, I use contact lens in my eye, then you can wear any google you want. no need to worry.

I use the prescription sport goggles- the ones you use for squash and tennis so you know they can handle the energy of a BB: they cost a fair bit but I've been shot in the glasses plenty without even a scratch and they rarely fog.

I say get contacts so you can have your full vision. If you get glasses, you can't look to your sides without moving your head because your glasses are only in the middle.
