scratchbuilt...?

I have noticed that it is a lot easier to build a firearm than it is to build an airsoft gun. The reason for me saying this is that the mechanisms for firing a cartridge are much less complicated that the valving needed to have a short burst of gasses needed to fire the little plastic spheres of death.

has anyone else noticed this?

i Was trying to say that regular firearms are quite easy to build if you have some basic tools and materials

but with the same materials, an airsoft gun would be much harder to build. Even considering not having to strengthen anything.

Easier to manufacture or not, I would much rather trust a homemade GBB or AEG than a home made firearm.

Are you talking building from raw materials or parts?

Well a sten gun is basically a tube with a firing pin.

Airguns need machined parts. I guess you can make pneumatics airsoft rifle out of pvc pipe but it won't look like a gun.

A real gun can be roughly made zip guns etc. My dad was telling me about the guns made by Chinese blacksmith during ww2 to fight against the Japanese. Roughly chiseled and filed revolvers they can shoot but you will have problems hitting a guy 20 ft away. I don't think you can make an airsoft gun from stamped steel but you can make a sten gun.

Maybe I should try and build a airsoft gun I can get CNC machined parts because my Dad works at a machine shop.
