JG 416 RIS Loose

I just received a brand new JG 416 and the whole front is REALLY loose. Wondering if someone can give me step by step instructions (pics would be better lol) of how to tighten this thing up.

Well I had the same problem with mine when I got it.. Dont know about step by step instructions because I have NO idea what I did.. all I know is that it worked and its super solid now..

Basically, undo the clip bolt near the reciever, slide the rail off, tighten up all the bolts and nuts under there, then there was this small tab thing, I bent it a little one way, slid it back on, tightened up the clasp again and it worked! Solid, no more slop as you described.

Give it a try, maybe it will work for you too, otherwise I heard some people have used tape under there.

I didnt use tape, just messed around with it like I said, Im suprised how its held on, but its solid enough after I did whatever I did to firm it up.. Just lock it back on really hard and firm.

Best step by step I can give u!

It's pretty common for brand new JG guns to have loose external parts. Had to tighten pretty much everything externally on my MP5 when I got it. And on my 416, the buffer tube and flash hider were both loose.

Sounds to me like you may have a loose front end... remove the whole RIS by removing the allen screw near the receiver. One the front right is collapsed, the whole RIS should slide right off. Make sure that the nut that attached the barrel to the upper receiver is nice and tight, then reinstall the RIS. That should fix the front end right up.

Remove the bottom screw on the RIS and slide the front end off. Tighten the nut/dring and put the front end back on, that should fix everything up.

I tried and it didn't work, the first bottom screw of the RIS was stripped and wouldn't tighten, everything else after the RIS was off tightened fine. But it was still loose so Im just going to send it back and get the fullstock version that I originally paid for.

Fair enough, since you bought it brand new in box theres no use attempting to repair something that may damage it even further. Your right just send her back and get another.

Yeah, probably best to send it back, especially if they didn't send you the right one to start with.

Personally, I switched mine to a full stock and I like it better that way.

the reason I wanted a full stock is I also wanted the longer barrels for my 416 Sniper project....

Oh.... 416 sniper... sounds interesting...

But I prefer the look of the gun with a fulls tock and a 16" barrel over the crane stock and 10". I'm a fairly big guy, so a full stock is not an issue for me. I don't do CQB (especially with the gun shooting 390 fps now that the spring has settled down), so don't need it that short.

My plan is the scope that came off my VSR, bipod, and maybe a different grip like a G27 or something like on a PSG-1. Not sure which ones will fit though without too much work but we'll see.
