Actually you can't, not without changing the reciever. The back of the upper is different on the SL series and the G36 series.

Agreed. The receiver on the G36C has the rings at the rear on the right side that the folding stock rides in. As long as you changed the receiver, everything else should be fine.

Doing some research for a friend and didn't want to start up a new thread, sorry for any de-railing or anything, but anyone know a way to turn the G36C front end into a G36K?

The CA longer handguard is workable with the JG G36C I believe, as for outer barrel, I'm not sure. any suggestions?

arent the real versions of sl-8's and g36's mostly special plastics? why not just do what i did. get a be sl-8, take all the shit crap parts out of it and install quality internals. id think youd be able to buy the be sl-8 and just merge it with your jg g36 to get your desired gun

i think ca and star are the only companies that make sl-8's as far as i can tell and theyre both pretty expensive. the be's sl-8's plastic body is i think quite sturdy and i think it would also be more cost effective to be used as parts than buying ca or star parts that you need if theyre available

but thats your choice to make

The G36 upper is simple as shit to change. Comes apart very easily. Using a bunch of aftermarket parts though by different companies may require you to do some filing/tinkering to get things to mesh properly.

Well that's nice to know, thanks.

Would any of the star kits work for a JG, though? Not sure on the compatibility between the two brands.

EDIT: Again, this is for a friend so I'm not to refreshed on G36's.

Why bother? For the cost of a STAR kit + the JG, you could buy the Classic Army one in whatever style you wanted.

The G36c was purchased quite some time ago, he's gotten bored and now wants it to be a K :\
