thanks,,but im still struggling with the mpeg2 format this new camera records as. windows movie maker doesnt recognize it and i lose SERIOUS resolution when i convert to wmv. im test converting this file to AVI format to see if its better.

If you want something more powerful, yet very user friendly - Ulead Video Studio (latest version) is what I used for years, great for basic editing and effects. And will handle Mpeg2 and all just fine.
