WE M1911 Mag Compatibility
Does anyone know (besides WE themselves) what other companies mags a WE 1911 Tactical is compatible with? Mainly Western Arms mags? I've been looking around on eHobby for a certain type of magazine, i've found what I need, but don't know if it would be compatible or not. I like the ones with the large bumpers...the little extension piece that is attached to the bottom of the mag:

Probably TM mags? But those are exactly the same as how WE mags look, I know...

I don't think that WA mags would fit. They're usually quite different from other manufacturers. I believe TM mags work, but until someone else who knows for sure steps up with a definitive answer, don't take my word for it.

Unfortunately, WE1911 only takes WE1911 mags. I know this for a fact.

So it's settled then. Thanks for the info, as I was considering a WE Hi-Capa and was wondering about mags too.

Hi-Capas are 2011s, so it's a different situation. WE2011 can use TM2011 mags because WE2011 is a copy of the TM2011. WE1911 can't use TM1911 (or anyone else's) mags because WE1911 is a hybrid/derivative of TM2011 and TM1911 design, rather than a copy of the TM1911.

Well, that's even better then. I could use TM mags, which I tend to trust more than other brands. Thanks for the info.

I have a WE 1911. Purchased a 1911 TM Mag. There is a tiny piece of metal on the TM mage preventing it from going into my gun.

Sorry to necro this thread.
Am I right in assuming the WE SG and WC 1911 mags are all compatable then? Just came into 2 we 1911's and the mags look like the socom ones, just trying to figure this out before I buy a few more mags.

Socom Gear pistols are made by WE. If the Wilson Combat 1911 came in under the Socom Gear label, then it's a WE 1911 for sure.
