CDN_Stalker has used a real steel laser boresight and it worked quite well for sighting in airsoft guns he said.

750+? Wow that's a good estimate for Canadian airsofting lol
Your lucky you get to pay less in the states! If you can afford one, buy a systema PTW MAX II, you won't need to do any tweaking as it already performs as good as they get. If you want a cheaper alternative and know a good gunsmith, G&P makes great metal bodied guns, you just have to buy all the right upgrade parts and have them put in correctly, shouldn't cost you more than 700$ in the states. |

Ya, for years I always sighted in by shooting, and last year I got the boresight, and it works great for sighting in airsoft guns to the point where you save a lot of ammo and targets. Has to be done indoors and at close range, I do mine at 30ft and it works fine. It's a perfect dead on, but it puts you within an inch or so, from there you just fire a few shots and tweak it the rest of the way.

Lol, it's not even where you think it'll be. Even at 90ft when I shoot the BB path goes up and over the line of sight, then drops and settles down. So don't expcet anything close to real steel in airsoft, you'll be greatly disappointed. Boresight to get on target at 30ft, then fire BBs at 100ft or so to finalize it, should set you up for out to roughly 150-200ft with a 500fps rifle.
And a Systema PTW max.................. with heavier than 0.20g I hear it's less than 100ft accurate. And with 0.20g BBs, they really suck for outdoor use, so I wouldn't expact much more than 100ft using that ammo in any system. |

Lutnit is able to after modifying his PTW Max, but the info I posted is from him, unmodded they really suck with anything over 0.25g, and are found lacking with 0.25g as well, since he says they were designed for 0.20g.
I shot Apoc's M16 PTW with the 150 cylinder and found it reasonably shitty past 100ft using 0.25g BBs. At least shitty by the reputation PTWs have, I found it to be not as good as either of my TM MP5s shooting 0.28g BBs (sub 380fps w/0.20g BBs), larger groups on the PTW and dropping around 130ft. And I was the one setting the hop up, really sensitive with the new tightbore he installed, was either going up or going down, and even the straightest I got them weren't that impressive. Impressive is the trigger response, the real Armalite action, the fast rate of fire. Aside from that I'm in no hurry to spend $2000 on an Armalite when my MP5s can out perform what I've shot. In Systema's defence though, they have designed one hell of a system for close in use, for training, and Apoc hasn't a clue how to set his guns up properly anyways. |
