Shipping Holsters

I contacted a seller on E-bay about buying a BH Serpa drop-leg holster and he wrote back that due to US export laws, he can't ship it to me. I know this is true for some NVG and weapons but I didn't think holsters were banned.

Anyone able to shead some light on this?

Bullshit. I got mine from the US. He probably just doesn't want to make the effort to ship it to Canada or something.

Agreed!
Found this to be a very common situation from USA surplus/militaria shops.
If they don't want to deal with it , "Can't export that item"

Had this happen with USA SWD goggles.

Better chance from a private seller, but it's BHI that doesn't do the exporting now. It's their policy from what I understand

Just received my 226 Serpa last week. Got it straight from Blackhawk. No issue, nothing extra paid except taxes.

Yeah...some dumbass told me he can't ship MOLLE utility pouches internationally because it's against eBay policy. If this were true...where did all my pouches come from?

I just buy from canadian based sellers on eBay. Saves you the worry and hassle of trying to get the seller to ship it to canada. The vairety is second to none, but when it comes to holsters, i only buy from canadian sellers. (I have had a leg holster delayed by a week by customs and my second one had a broken buckle. Apparently it was the customs guy that broke it.)

Simple solution, if you live close enough to the border. Get a post office box on the US side. You might be able to get one in an actual postal outlet, or you can easily get one at a place like Mail Boxes Etc. I've got one in NY state, and another in Washington state, and they have been a godsend when trying to get parts for my Jeep, airoft guns, various electronic stuff, etc. Just make sure you claim all your items when you cross the border and you're set. At the same time you can also become your own broker to get bigger items through customs. I did this when I orderd a new engine for my Jeep out of the US last year, and it saved me a ton of cash. It's well worth the time it takes to fill out the paperwork.
Another route to go is to use a company that will bring stuff across for you. In Seattle there's a company called Sea Wings that you can have your items shipped to, and for a small fee they'll bring them over on the ferry to Victoria for you to pick up. It's a pretty kickass service, and they'll handle large items as well.

Same thing happened to me when i tried to by a LAM unit. Seller was in Hawaii, and i obviously said i would pay for the shipping, but he still didn't want to go to the trouble.
