Gun paint?
So I've done some weathering job to my WWII collections. I sand off the original factory paints which seemed very plastic, and now i am having trouble finding a paint that will give guns a real steel greyish back feeling (gun bluing).
Any suggested paint that will do that work? Here are some real steel pics of the guns im working on:

The thing with bluing is that you need gun metal to blue in the first place. It's not so much a paint finish as it is a metal finish. Paints that attempt to mimic this often fall very short.
The only thing that will come even remotely close is: http://lauerweaponry.com/duracoatcol...k&Category=220 Even then, the finish won't be exactly what you wanted. There's other paints there, and they're "real steel" paints, so they'll work well, but they wont be the right finish that you're looking for.

Bluing "steel" is a chemical process. You wont get it without actually going through the chemical conversion of the steel. Again, the closest thing to it is oiled "Blued Steel" Paint, which is available where I directed you.
Simply oiling the painted gun after applying the "steel blue" paint should give a similar (though much to be desired) look.

There's actually a really nice guide for getting an actual blued finish here:
http://hunting.about.com/od/blackpow...zzlekit_14.htm But again, some of the finishing products might not work well with airsoft guns. This is not to be done to plastic pieces whatsoever! It will ruin them. Also, remove all internals before perfoming this and do this at your own risk should you wish to attempt it. It's not easy, my grandpa did it once and I watched him, so I've never done it myself, but I saw that it takes quite a bit of detail work.
