Has any one had the DPMS a17 before? If so is it good for a starter airsoft gun for wars?

That was my first gun. It's pure plastic, iron sights don't even work, FPS is about 230-280 methinks? It eat's AA batteries like there's no tomorrow, but it's a bargain for the 80$ i bought it with. (The 6 position stock it came with made me happy though.)

this one is rail system, full stock, 8 cell battery right? if so then it's the one I'm thinking of which too is full plastic accept iner barrel, rail on top of gun and part of outer barel hidden by the hand guard... not too bad for plinking but not too good for gaming.

you mean dreadful for gaming. If you bump it, it will crack. Terrible plastic quality.

i have it, good for shooting pop cans and really nothing else.. i painted it all black which helps but i still would never use it in a game, for fear of being ridiquled by everyone else! lol

well lets see...
1. the logo is a panther
2. the slogan is "only the best dpms"
3. It a waste of money, save another few hundred with all the shitty guns you buy and you could get a JG
