Why would I need to replace piston head and hop-up rubber on TM and CA guns?

Because they can be mediocre at times and provide less than optimal performance.

Please moderate the number of new threads you're posting. You're asking a lot of questions that you can answer yourself with some time on a search engine. Thanks.

If you're Canadian, try Airsoftparts.ca. I personally recommend the Prometheus soft type. A little pricey, but I think they're great.

If you're in the States, you've got like a dozen online retailers to choose from.

Fill out your information so we don't have to ask about your location in the future when trying to help.

TM pistons are fantastic, but CA pistons are known to break easily so it's a good idea to replace them.
As for hopup rubbers, TM makes decent quality rubber, but again CA is less satisfactory. Suffice it to say it's a 5$ part that could drastically improve performance.

Ventilated piston heads offer vastly improved performance in terms of shot-to-shot velocity consistency (especially during full auto fire) as well as increased velocity.

As for hop up rubbers, aftermarket ones are typically more durable, shoot more consistently, shoot more accurately, or a combination of all 3 attributes.

btw... I sell both items.

Or you can save your self a little money and ventilate the piston head your self by drilling holes in the front of the piston head. Hop-up buckings are a bit of a religion. Those from TM, Systema, Guarder and Madbull are in general fine.
