Aluminium BBs

has anyone used these? i think this might sting quite a bit,not so?

Don't think they're for skirmish, due to the round can actually turn into a bullet. 500fps using that would be half the power of 22lr, which unprotected (Walls, Ballistic Helmet, kevlar) can kill people quite easily

i did a search on these board but i couldnt find anything, i would so hate to get hit with one of these at close range, id break out my co2 cp99 and light up whoever shot me lol jk

May be good for snipers, but not general AEG use.

A .2 is a .2, shouldn't matter what their made of. Same mass same velocity should be same energy.
And I'm pretty sure a 22LR has a 40 grain bullet that is the same weight as
13.75 x .2's (lots more mass)

You can make a BB out of solid steel and it wont matter as long as its .2 The formula for work and energy doesnt take into account material, just speed and weight.

a 22lr is 1050 fps when it leaves, Im talking about the damage it will do. not the stopping power

It also has 141 JOULES of energy. Not at all the same.

I agree, the big point of the whole arguement of aluminum BBs was the deformation on impact. Simply said it's your skin that deforms, not the BB. So there's a chance it could do more damage to plastic objects like guns and radios but testing is really required before making any conclusions.

Aluminum BBs are usually 0.29g in weight, and are nothing really any different in use than plastic BBs of the same weight, other than where one will deform, the other might break (or not). So in all honesty, there is more of a welt left by a 0.36g or 0.43g graphite coated plastic BB than there would be getting hit by a mid weight aluminum BB.

I have a small bottle of these things, it came with my L96. They really perform no differently to plastic BB's of similar weight and quality. It actually performs pretty good, partially because my gun seems to like .29g weighted BBs most, so .30 is quite good. outperforms KSC perfect .25 in terms of flight path, but nowhere near as good as .29 SGMs. Slightly nicer flight path than a Digicon .36 on my gun.

The only thing is they seem quite soft, so they're prone to small nicks and damage, more so than plastic BBs. Because of this, they tend to jam in 6.01 barrels...

The impact seems significantly less so than .36 digicons as CDN_stalker suggested from last time I played with them.

It seems they should be much more consistent than plastic, since they will have next to no internal differences (bubbles, uneven density distribution) compared to plastic, as well as being easier to visually inspect and being more resistant to deformation/scratching from passing through metal feed lips and the like.
No shatter danger unless you're shooting point blank against a solid object with 3 joules (over 570 fps with a .20g). If someone is shooting you that close with that much power... I don't think I'd be worrying about the glass BB as much as I'd be worrying about getting that player off the frakkin' field.

Anyone want to give em a try? The review raves about their precision; I wonder if they'd give .29g SGMs a run for their money.
