What do you guys think of snaps vs. webbing?
Hey guys.
Well the title says it all. I was curious to see what you guys think of metal snaps for attaching pouches to as opposed to the molle systems out there. I know that webbing right now has most of the market when it comes to gear and pouches but I've been messing around with both and I have my own opinions on the whole issue; so I thought I'd ask you guys what your thoughts are on it, whether you've tried both or even if you haven't but still have an opinion on what you think you might like better. |

Snapts are unpopular, so might be limited in your pouchs selection.
Mole is very popular and rugged. It does not require velcro to secure the pouch and don't get messy with dirt and mud. I'd say ignore the snaps and go mole.

I'd have to say MOLLE and MOLLE vests are way bigger than standard webbing on the market, simply because theres so many manufacturers making it.
By metal clips I assume you mean the ALICE system? It's crap, the metal rusts, it comes undone and pokes you, and it can fail, there's a reason it was replaced by MOLLE MOLLE straps are more secure, pouches jiggle less (when attached properly), and you can get NEW pouches for just about anything |

I think he might be refering to the metal snaps that you tend to find on paint ball and old tac vests...these tend to have a large velcro panel with a couple of rows of spaced metal snaps to secure the attachable pouches. To these I say MOLLY is way more versitile and completely modular allowing you to personalize your pouch locations (height, position, etc...), where as the snaps allow you to switch the pouches, but not adjust height. Aswell, you are usually limited only one pouch per set of snaps, where as MOLLY has much more options (ie. shingle style mag pouches are not available for snap type vests).
MOLLY has my vote, hands down. SHA DO

Snaps break, they're a bitch to replace. Webbing is just stitching.
