RW's Systema Mp5 PTW Review

HERE
Stats:
Capacity: 40 bbs
Dry Firing: No official statment from RW but said it will have anti dry fire on Youtube, magazine said it will have, proto did not
Battery: 9.6V 2400mAh(M16 style)
FPS: M90 ONLY so far (Unique cylinder see pics)
Bore: 6.04mm
Weight: 3.6Kg (2.5kg is real steel note)
Composition: Metal and Fiber Reinforced Polymor
Verdict:
Quote:
MP5, and the MP5 A4 is a very fine electric gun as expected. Full of technological advancements in the mechanism, the PTW MP5 is also stronger and more realistic on the outside.

Looks nice, but why is it a whole kg heavier than the real-steel?

2.54kg - I'd assume that's weapon alone, no mag inserted.

Mag inserted with ammunition, it would probably near the 3.5kg weight of the PTW.

Checkout the backside of the close up of the top of the mag. You can see the little tab that on the M4A1 PTW trips the bolt catch and stops it from dry firing, so maybe it is just the protos.

I also find it strange that SystemA decided to put their 480 motors in the MP5, they are promoting the 490's in the M4A1's like mad and all 2008 PTW's and a lot of late 2007 PTW's came stock with 490's.

AR PTW > MP5.

Personally, I don't think this one will do as well.. But who knows. I have faith in SystemA. Just not it's CEO

doubt it, 8g X30 = 240(bullet) + 300g(mag) would not equal 3.5kg, Guess the weight thing fail this time, maybe if they've use aluminium stead of steel that would be better

Most likely, you'll see it by mid-summer at the earliest. Systema is still tooling for production at this time.

one thing that made me worry is the hand grip part, notice there's only wiring to the battery. This meant that either they did not add the anti-dry firing at all in this verison or the bolt is not going to be functional

End of mag is detected by a tab that lifts at the rear edge of the mag.

Their prototype was a fully tooled pre production product. Not a hand carved model or SLS/SLA/3dprint rapid proto. It looks like all of the injection moulds are finished as I didn't find evidence of hand fitting in the plastic parts (clean parting lines, no manual crafting marks).

SystemA indicates that their first run reserve sales should be released in early/mid March.
