What is the Pistol Equivalent to the M4 AEG
I'm shopping for a GBB, I've got the selection narrowed down to 20 some odd models split among various manufacturers (various Glock and USP variations). Trust me I've read a HELLUVA LOTTA stuff and reviews
Is there a Pistol out there that is the equivalent to the M4/M16 in terms of
Is there a pistol that just outperforms everything by leaps and bounds? A Pistol that offers a ridiculous bank for buck value? Thanks ahead of time. |

KSC Glock series could fit the bill for most of that... I wouldn't say that stock it outperforms everything, but nicely upgraded, you can get a pretty powerful pistol.

Other than the inconsistant Hop-up, KSC Glocks(Glock 19 seems to be the popular one, as it comes stock with heavy weight frame and metal bb loading ramp) are reliable performers....
I don't think they are as popular as M4 though....Pistols in most cases are more dependent to personal tastes....also unlike the M4 which almost all the ones on the market can trace their design to some sort of TM, GBBs from different brands are completely different, even if they are of the same gun.... Pistols are more of a personal preference thing but there's a TON of P226's around here.

Most people seem to have Glocks (varying models though) P226 as vatek said, M9's (not as much as the others) and Hi cappas as hattrick said. This is just coming from someone who watches the sales WAYY too much

But if you also look at the sales, the P226 mentioned are also from KJW, TM or KSC....none of which I believe are compatible to another....just like you can get Glock 23 in KJW or KSC, Glock 26 in KSC or TM, Glock 17 in TM or KSC...etc

The brand compatibility in pistols is somewhat of an issue. When choosing one, it's ofte wise to check out how upgradeable they are, if that's your intent. TM are by far the most upgradeable out there. KSC / KWA have a lot of upgrade parts available as well. Western Arms, while great pistols out of the box, don't have much available in terms of replacement parts and after-market upgrades.
And in the "bang for the buck" category, KJW pistols are usually pretty good for the money. You get an all-metal pistol (although made of pot metal) that performs quite admirably out of the box. There aren't many upgrades available, but the replacement parts that are known to fail (mostly springs) are compatible with other brands and pretty cheap. The only trouble they seem plagued with is mags that tend to leak. I hear some of the newest generation KJW pistols (like the P226) will accept TM mags now, so that certainly makes them more attractive.

For example, my KJW P229 slide works on Cushak's TM P226. |

I know many TM M9 parts aren't compatible with KJW. I got my hands on a TM tightbore barrel in hopes it would work, but it wasn't even close to being able to fit. Standard 25 round TM mags won't work in the KJ M9, but I'm told KJ mags will work in the TM (TM mags are about 1 mm shorter and they don't go in far enough).
However, the slide itself is compatible, as are the springs.

I think we're straying off the topic.
In all honestly, the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa would probably be it. Although one can argue that Glocks are just as common, the Hi-Capa is much more simplistic and rugged by comparison. Definitely more aftermarket parts than Glocks, too, what with the variety of slides, slide stops, safety, triggers, external hammer, sights, etc etc.

Not to mention Glocks don't have any parts to catch things on and stuff that sticks out. But yeah I'd still say the Hicapa is the most upgradeable/accessoriseable/blingable. Last edited by Styrak; February 27th, 2008 at 19:35.. |

KSC Glock 19 (I own it, and love it)
But I did own a KJW m9, I used it for a while and although it was a great gun the glock seems to be better both the quality of the gun and the abillity to upgrade it |

even though I love my Hi-Capa I think the Glock 19 was a more maintenance free option.

I'd have to agree with the KSC glock 19 on this one.
