Discharging batteries?

Just wondering if you guys actually discharge your batteries and how often? I've never had a good aeg and a good battery until now and I want to take good care of it. I've never bothered discharging my batteries before, just left it the way it was after the game, and threw it in the charger to charge up a bit more for the next game. Is it really worth it to completely discharge it after every game and then charge it up when I want to plink or do target practice and then discharge it and then recharge it for a game etc, etc?

If you got a Nicad, then you should discharge it before. Nimh's do not need this type of treatment, but I would recommend cycling your NiMh once in a while. I maybe wrong, but topping a partially used battery, NiCad or NiMH, without discharging should not be a problem.

Or get a NiMH and simply don't think a about it.

I'd say "depends which you bought". They make or sell both types.

Doesn't mean that NiMh is automatically better than NiCd. Both have their applications.

Should have told you guys what it was, sorry. It's an 8.4volt 1500mAh NiMH battery. So basically, don't discharge it. Thanks guys! Much appreciated. Seemed like a huge pain in the ass to have to discharge it after every time I use it and charge it all the way up just to plink in the basement and target practice, then discharge it!

Cheers

I have all NiMH, never discharge, they all hold 100% of their rated capacity.
